 Coach no.30

We were asked by the London Transport Museum to restore the high-backed seats in Coach No.30 — an original London Underground train carriage that first ran on the Northern Line in 1980.

After removing the nylon velvet covers that were added in the 1970s, we fitted new hessian and replaced the horsehair fillings, using as much of the undamaged original as possible.

We then covered the seat backs in calico and velvet, before refitting the buttons as they would have been when the seats were first installed.
